Club strengthens string for 2021
04 November 2020
Recent developments have led to the addition of Flat horses to the Elite Racing Club string for this winter and beyond.
Further to the introduction of the Elite Syndicates' jumpers, Tulin and Sarsen, Magistrate (pictured) has entered training at the Star Cottage Stables of the prolific and longstanding Club trainer, Julie Camacho.
Having raced just once previously, it will be interesting to see what Magistrate can achieve in the hands of Julie and the team at Star Cottage, particularly as he is from one of the most illustrious familes in the Club's highly successful breeding programme.
A half-brother to the Club's most prolific winner, Judicial, who is trained by Julie, Magistrate is also a half-brother to Marsha, a dual Group 1 winner for the Club before she was sold for a record 6,000,000 guineas in December 2017.
One who has just entered training for the first time is another Club homebred, the very attractive Gleneagles ex Sistine yearling colt. He has just joined Sir Mark Prescott and the team at the trainer's Heath House Stables in Newmarket.
By the dual 2,000 Guineas winner Gleneagles, this well made yearling is out of Sistine, who was a Club winner on the Flat before joining the breeding programme. She has foaled three winners from three foals to race to date, including Mon Frere, a dual winner on the Flat, who will be going hurdling with Paul Nicholls this season, and Viola, a progressive, winning filly in training with James Fanshawe.
