Kind Of Hush's fourth foal arrives safely
14 May 2020
Elite Racing Club's breeding programme celebrated the safe arrival of Kind Of Hush's fourth foal last week, a bay filly by rising star stallion, Sea The Moon.
The foal was delivered last Tuesday, 5 May, at Battlefield Stud, and together with Kind Of Hush, will soon return to Julie Camacho and Steve Brown's Star Cottage Stables, located just outside Malton, North Yorkshire. Steve Brown reports that mother and foal are both doing well.
The Sea The Moon foal is particularly welcome. Not only is she the Club's seventh foal of the current breeding season, but Kind Of Hush's 2019 foal sadly succumbed to a virus last summer, so it's great to have another representative of Kind Of Hush in the breeding programme.
In the past year, Kind Of Hush has continued to establish herself as a broodmare, not least through her first foal, Maurice Dancer (by Kodiac), who became her first winning offspring when he prevailed in a nursery handicap at Wolverhampton in November 2019.
Kind Of Hush is a daughter of Affinity (by the legendary Sadler's Wells), who was a winner in Club colours at three years, and is out of Kalinka, one of the foundation mares of the Club's breeding programme, who also produced the Club's late five-time Group 1 winner Soviet Song and Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle winner, Penzance.
Like Maurice Dancer, Kind Of Hush's second foal, the two-year-old filly Oh So Quiet (by Dutch Art), is also in training at Star Cottage. Hopefully, both horses can fly the flag for Kind Of Hush as and when racing resumes this summer, and this latest foal can follow in their footsteps in the fullness of time.
