Harmonica going for Listed Glory
27 April 2018
The homebred filly Harmonica has travelled over to Germany this week to run in a Listed race at Dusseldorf on Sunday. Sir Mark Prescott has nominated this race as Harmonica's best option in her bid to gain some coveted 'black type', which breeders look for when they breed and buy horses at the sales. By finishing in the first three in this race, Harmonica's pedigree could be improved no end, as she is already from a wonderful family.
Harmonica is by the leading broodmare sire, Pivotal, out of the Club's mare by Sadler's Wells mare, Affinity, making Harmonica a half-sister to Zest. She has been placed in Listed company and is a very decent horse, who could run at Nottingham next week. Harmonica bolted up in her first race of the season, when recording a five-length success at Lingfield under apprentice jockey, Gavin Ashton. She was disappointing when returning to the course five days later at Newcastle, but has since been freshened up by the master trainer and we look forward to seeing her run on Sunday. She will be ridden by Club favourite, Luke Morris, and we wish them all the very best.
We hope to produce a video about the day in Germany, which will be published on the Club website for Members to view.
