Guineas Day runner for Elite Racing Club!
05 June 2020
Elite Racing Club is delighted to not only have a runner at the prestigious Guineas meeting at Newmarket, but also to have one with a live chance, in the form of the Club's ace homebred sprinter, Judicial.
The eight-year-old Iffraaj gelding is currently on a joint-career-best rating of 109, which makes him the top-rated runner in the Group 3 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday, 6 June. In lining up, he will also become the Club's first runner since the resumption of racing earlier this week.
Last year, Judicial became the Club's most prolific winner to date, with 14 career victories. He just missed out on adding another win to his CV when he finished second in the 2018 renewal of the Palace House Stakes, and trainer Julie Camacho and Club members are hoping he can go one better at Newmarket this weekend. If doing so, Judicial will emulate his illustrious half-sister and dual Group 1 winner, Marsha, who won the race in 2017.
A win would be all the more poignant following the sad loss of Judicial's dam, Marlinka, earlier this year. Marlinka was also successful Club racehorse, winning three races at two years, including a Listed race in France.
Good luck to all Club members, Julie and the team at Star Cottage Stables, and, of course, Judicial.
