First win of the season for Constancio!

The Club's consistent hurdler Constancio brought his tally of wins in Elite Racing Club's famous black and white colours to three when winning by a clear margin at Plumpton earlier this week.

All being well, as long as Donald McCain can continue to find decent ground on which to run Constancio (pictured above at Stratford), he hopes to run him again before the year's end.

Congratulations to Donald, jockey Brian Hughes and all the team at Bankhouse Stables for this latest win. The Plumpton win was Donald's fifteenth for the Club, following on from those achieved by the former Club horses Halogen, Doyly Carte (including at Listed level) and Volcanic.

Constancio's success will hopefully pave the way for fellow Jumpers Tulin and Mon Frere, who will hopefully make their hurdling debuts in Club colours before the end of 2020.

On a more general note, Constancio's win was the 398th Club success to date. The first was also recorded at Plumpton, courtesy of the Charles Egerton-trained Kabayil, who later became a highly successful broodmare in the Club's breeding programme. In the coming weeks, it will be fascinating to see which Club horse chalks up the historic 400th win.
