Tribute Act finished a remarkable second in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes on the second day of the Royal Ascot Meeting, despite an apparent gulf in class of official ratings. She defied never having competed at Group level to challenge at the furlong marker, before the top-class filly Aljazzi powered clear inside the final half-furlong. Tribute Act travelled well throughout the race under Adam Kirby, before cruising to the front, much to the delight of Club Members. Despite Aljazzi going clear, Tribute Act battled on well to hold off the eventual third, Wilamina, who finished just a neck behind her.

James Fanshawe has now entered Tribute Act for the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket's July Meeting on 13th July, which is a race won twice by her aunt, Soviet Song, who was also trained at Pegasus Stables. Tribute Act's half-sister, Ribbons, was also a Group 1 winner for the stable and we very much hope a Group race victory is not far away for Tribute Act.

On the penultimate day of the meeting, Top Tug carries top weight for the second year running in the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap. This is hugely exciting for the Club to be represented at the Meeting once again and we wish Alan King and his team all the best for the big race!
