Club bolsters Jumps string
14 October 2020
Elite Racing Club has a long and fine record of success with its jumpers, from its first-ever winner, Kabayil, through to its high-profile wins in the years that followed, with the likes of Dancing Bay, Mysilv, Penzance, and the recently-retired Elgin.
To help maintain the flow of Jumps performers in the current and future seasons, eleven-time champion trainer Paul Nicholls will shortly be taking charge of the dual Flat winner Mon Frere, who will be embarking on a novice-hurdling campaign this season.
Furthermore, through the Club's recently-launched sister company, Elite Syndicates, Club Members will also be able to see two new Jumps recruits, Tulin and Sarsen (pictured), running in the Club's famous white and black colours.
Tulin is already in training with Paul Nicholls, and will hopefully be going juvenile hurdling later this year, while Sarsen, an attractive and athletic grey, will be heading to Alan King's Barbury Castle Stables in Wiltshire. Sarsen may run on the Flat in 2021, before going juvenile hurdling next autumn. Alan has had a particularly good season on the Flat this year, with three Royal Ascot winners, but he has a longstanding and highly successful record with his Jumpers, including the Club homebreds Penzance (won the Triumph Hurdle) and Elgin (winner of the Greatwood Hurdle and Kingwell Hurdle).
With the dual winner Constancio already having run with promise over hurdles this autumn, Club Members could be set for one of their most fruitful Jumps campaigns of recent years.
